INTRODUCTION TO BAROQUE HURDY-GURDY

Michael Muskett teaches the hurdy-gurdy and is a specialist in the interpretation and performance of baroque music.

Michael proposes to give a one day hurdy-gurdy workshop: Introduction to Baroque.

This will cover the ornamentation and other musical devices essential to this style,
using popular hurdy-gurdy duets of the time.

French baroque music is not played as it is written. The many trills, ornaments and changes of rhythm are only implied. For anyone who has played this repertoire and found it a bit dull, this day will be a revelation.

Date not yet arranged though planning for Spring 2012.

Please contact Michael if you are interested in this event which will be held in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK.
